Patene Building Supplies Ltd.

Since opening its doors more than 55 years ago, Patene Building Supplies has been dedicated to supplying contractors and homebuilders quality products and the best selection of exterior and interior building materials. It’s a respected leader in the masonry, gypsum, roofing and landscaping supply industry in south western Ontario and is quickly making its mark in the east.

When Patene decided to expand to its first location east of Milton, it selected the City of Pickering. “We already had an established client base in Durham Region and look forward to building upon that,” says Branch Manager Paul Calleri. “The City of Pickering made sense because of its proximity to Toronto and ease of access to the rest of Durham and as far east as Kingston.”

The 55,000-square-foot facility, located at 1920 Silicone Dr., is Patene’s 15th location. One facility is located in Winnipeg, Man.; all others are located in Ontario. Since opening its doors in May 2011, Patene has expanded its outside space to feature a variety of landscape and masonry displays. It is currently building a large canopy to protect its employees and products from the elements while being shipped to and from the facility.  

“Our main customers are residential and commercial contractors and builders,” says Mr. Calleri. Founder Eugene George is proud of the Pickering location and his family carries on his highly-respected tradition of service. “We know there are many choices when it comes to purchasing building supplies and Patene is committed to providing service that is second to none,” Mr. Calleri says of Patene’s continued success.
